Something To Talk About…

There is no “other”. There is no “them”. There’s only us. And if real change is going to ever take place, WE must work TOGETHER to implement that change. I encourage you to take 15 minutes of your day to watch this TED talk. It goes SO MUCH DEEPER than Westboro Baptist Church, which is the subject for this particular TED talk. It’s for everyone who finds themselves at odds politically, spiritually, socially with someone else and wants desperately to find common ground with that person. The middle way is the only way for peace. Which means everybody – including us – has to be willing to, agree to, and start moving toward the middle. Are you willing to move? If so, implementing the ideas in this video is a great first step. Check it out:

Monday Morning Meditation, Ep. 47: Automatic

Good Morning Meditators!  In today’s episode I go over a few announcements: April 15th & 16th I’ll be at the OPERA Spirit Mind and Body Expo.  I will be doing tarot readings all weekend long.  And on Saturday morning at 10:30am I’ll be leading a guided meditation class.  For more information on the expo, click here.  Also I’m actively looking for more opportunities around the country and around the world to join any expos, fairs, conventions or events where I could either do tarot card readings or guided meditation classes.  To book me for your event, click here.  Please bookmark mondaymorningmeditation.com for links to all my social media presences.  Then we went about the business of today’s meditation.

Today I talk about inadvertently getting stuck in a rut.  This past year I decided for my mental health to step away from a lot of responsibilities I was involved in.  I had spread myself really thin and in order not to lose whatever tenuous grasp I have on reality I had to step away from a lot of what I was doing.  The unfortunate side effect of that was I ended up getting stuck on auto-pilot.  And the problem with living a life on auto-pilot is that eventually we end up living a very unfulfilled life.  Which can turn into mid-life crises or living in resentment or regret.

The way to fix that is to be as present as we possibly can as we go about our daily lives as well as being thankful for every moment in our lives.  And if that seems to be a really tall order, we do it in baby steps.  And that’s what we explore in the guided part of our meditation today.

A cold has been kicking my ass like a runaway slave.  Actually it’s probably more than a cold at this point because it’s been lingering around for a couple weeks now, and colds don’t generally do that.  Regardless, I’ve been this, whatever it is, bitch for a while now.  And that’s why you didn’t get a podcast last week.  But the good news is whatever is kicking my ass from the inside out was the inspiration for today’s podcast.  Enjoy!

Monday Morning Meditation, Ep. 45: Find Your Happy Place

Good Morning Meditators!

In today’s episode we talk about finding our happy place.  And we do it through the auspices of Toon Town from the classic animated movie “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?”.  Part of my happy place is discussing spirituality with people and finding out where their spirituality lies.  Or doesn’t.  So if anyone has Ricky Gervais’ or Stephen Colbert’s ears, let them know I’d LOVE to interview them.  Because interviewing people about how their spirituality manifests itself is TRULY one of my FAVORITE happy places.

I’m coming off the tail end of a really bad cold.  So if this meditation sounds a little funky, that’s the reason why.

Monday Morning Meditation Ep. 44: You’re The Common Denominator

Good Morning Meditators!  In today’s episode of Monday Morning Meditation we kick off the episode with a few announcements.  Then we get into the meat of the episode which is all about being the common denominator in the relationships we find ourselves in.  I talk about my most recent break-up.  I give you the history and backstory of my relationship with my most current ex and then I go into how I and my need to always date my parents were the common denominators in the demise of this relationship.  If you have had multiple failed relationships and they all seem to thrive or fall because of certain recurring themes, this guided meditation is for you.  It’s not an episode that points the finger in blame.  It is an episode that asks us to look for and find the common denominators in all our relationships and if those things are serving us well or not.

Monday Morning Meditation Ep. 43: Might As Well Face It You’re Addicted To…

Good Morning Meditators!  In today’s episode I run down a few announcements.  Then we talk about the topic of the day which is addiction.  I give insight into one of my many (possible) addictions, and it’s a DOOZY!  We talk about what the medical community has to say about addiction and addicts.  We discuss and dissect what a high functioning addict is vs a low functioning or non functioning addict is.  Then we discuss how to know if you’re an addict or not.  Then we get into the meditation itself.

Monday Morning Meditation, Ep. 41: DreamCatcher or What Dreams Are Made Of

Good Morning Meditators!  In today’s episode we briefly recap the year that was.  We say goodbye to all the notable people who passed away.  We talk about how Mariah Carey POSSIBLY killed her career onstage this New Year’s Eve.  We talk about how in the stone age I was a musician.  And if I were to ever have my career end it would be in a similar fashion to what Mimi did.  And then we end it all on a positive hopeful note, sending out love and light to Mariah Carey.

Then we talk about 2017 and all the new things happening with Monday Morning Meditation, The Traveling Tarot and Sanctuary Studios as a whole.  There’s a BUNCH of new stuff happening, so please stay tuned to M3 for all the details.

Because of the Dr. Martin Luther King holiday next week, Monday Morning Meditation will be silent.  And that will be the last time M3 will be silent for federal holiday purposes until Memorial Day at the end of May.

Then we talk about New Year’s resolutions and how outside of one particular time in my life I’ve never been able to stick to a resolution.  Then we talk about dreams and goals and how all if it folds into each other.  How our dreams become visions which in turn become goals which in turn become accomplishments.  But it all starts with a dream.  And then we get into the meditation itself.

Good Morning Meditators!

In this week’s episode we talk about mondaymorningmeditation.com and how everyone should go there and bookmark it.  It will be your one-stop-resource for all things Sanctuary Studios and Monday Morning Meditation.  We talk about the Spirit, Mind and Body Expo that happened a couple weeks ago.  I take the opportunity to thank everyone who came out to say hello.  Especially since the weather outside was TRULY frightful.  I also thank the kind people who opened their home to me for a holiday party where I was the entertainment for the evening.  I met some incredible people and enjoyed my time reading for people during the party.  I also put out a call for anyone who may be in need of a psychic reader for their parties, or for their fairs or expos to reach out to me at traveler@travelingtarot.com.

Then we talk about being grateful even when times aren’t that fantastic.  We talk about a school of metaphysical thought that says we must fully go through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows in order to truly learn lessons and live.  And how when we allow ourselves to go through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows and truly experience them for what they are, we eventually find a place of equilibrium.  And how there’s always hope.  And how nothing lasts forever.  Good, bad or indifferent, there’s always hope and nothing lasts forever.

Then we talk about my good friend Andre’ (not his real name) and how he was the spark for today’s episode on Touch.

If you have an idea for a meditation on Smell or Taste, please reach out to me at mondaymorningmeditationpodcast@gmail.com and I will DEFINITELY give you credit for the idea.  I’ll credit you and link you up everywhere I am on social media.

Then we get into the meditation itself.
